Northeast Cobb Monitor

Organizing and running my own news site for the community I live in has been a goal I have had for years. The advent and then growing popularity of the internet made the organizing aspect of the site possible. After months of planning, I came out with my first edition of the Northeast Cobb Monitor.com. January 16, 2008. But even early on, I found weekly costs of keeping the site alive until advertising dollars could be brought in might be too much of a challenge.

I liked the company that had originally designed my web site, but quickly found the weekly costs of having them maintain the site was going to put my plans in the cyber waste basket. As costs mounted, the pressure to find an alternative to that company, while maintaining the quality of product I felt people deserve, became paramount.

My search began by phone, but I did not speak with anyone or hear anything that moved me enough to move my site to them. A friend of mine suggested I call Craig Faer, a friend of his, at Pure Web Development. As cliché as it may sound, it was the best call (and last) I made in search of a new webmaster. After one quick meeting, I knew this was the right company for me and the future of my business.

Not only has Pure Web Development saved me critically-needed capital, the level of service and great attitude provided to me by company employees has been outstanding. Pure Web’s Stephen Jobe handles my site each week, and even under deadline situations, he always maintains a confident and professional attitude.

The new site goes out when it is intended to, even when I have to hold on a story until the last second.

Also, I can be quite being ignorant of the work it sometimes takes to implement new ideas on a site. Even when I bring up new, harder things to try, Pure Web explains to me what is involved and works until we get it right.

What I am very impressed with is the XARNO Content Management System. Being a nurse and handling the website chores for a medical practice, I am not the most electro-technically savvy person going. Xarno is simple enough to allow me to effectively manage my website content, yet powerful enough to upload and edit photos, video and patient forms. In addition, my latest project is an on-line patient newsletter that is managed entirely by me, content, mailing lists, photos and all, through Xarno.
